Community Health Youth Advocates

For Grades: 9th -12th 

Throughout this year-long academic program, our scholars participate in several components, also known as sessions, which includes Community Health and Care Systems (Fall 2023), Rites of Passage (Winter 2024); Professional Training and Certifications (Spring 2024), and In-Person Internship (Summer 2024). CHYA is a virtual program that is held on Google Classroom, except for the Summer 2024 session, which will consist of a 40-hour in-person internship at a local organization located in Los Angeles

UNITE-LA'S Tech Pathways Academy powered by Microsoft is a 9 week after school academy that helps increase career awareness, certification, and enrichment program that develops the next generation of industry leaders. Students will complete free Tech certification, courses in AI, software development, product management and system administration. 

Eligibility:

Students must be ages 16-18 and interested in tech career pathways. Students must also be able to commit to virtual sessions every Tuesday and Thursday from 4:30 pm - 6 pm.

Open to students entering either their freshman, sophomore, junior or senior year of high school, Adelphi’s Pre-College experience brings together students from all over the world to live, learn and explore all that our University has to offer. Here, students will attend a college-level class each day, live in our new, air-conditioned residence halls, and eat in our fantastic dining hall! Adelphi’s beautiful and safe Garden City campus is just minutes from renowned beaches and parks, and just 23 miles from New York City, the world’s premiere city for art, culture, and entertainment.
